Educating the Whole Child:
Mind, Body and Spirit.
We are blessed to have four volunteer librarians who help the students on a weekly basis to choose books and take Accelerated Reader tests. Our librarians are Susie Kilian, Kim Vonderheide, Rita Green, and Angie Garland.
Students in PreK3-8th grades attend library one day a week. Accelerated Reader is a computer program that monitors students' independent reading practice in Grades 1 through 8. When students have finished reading a book, they take a short comprehension quiz on the computer. Teachers then use that information to set goals for future reading practice. The goal is to encourage students to read and provide them with time for reading practice.
