Boys and girls in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade are invited to participate in the Junior Hawks program, which begins in October and runs through April. Students are taught the fundamentals of basketball, volleyball, and track.
Each student has the choice to sign up for all three Junior Hawks sports or choose one or two. Students will learn game techniques and rules, while building physical strength, further developing motor control and fine motor skills, gaining individual confidence, and learning team-based play. The basketball and volleyball seasons will end with playing games. This year if time allows and weather permits, we hope to introduce a Junior Hawks Track Meet in late spring. All students participating in any of the Junior Hawks sports must have a current health form and updated physical (valid for 12 months) on file in the school office.
Junior Hawks Basketball will begin on Thursday, October 12. Practices will continue weekly on Thursdays through November 16 in the St. Joseph gym.
